Mosaik Dogme Training
Mosaik Teacher Training Opportunity: Dogme for English Language Education in Emergencies, 22 January - 4 March
Mosaik’s Dogme Training programme aims to enable English teachers to integrate communicative Dogme teaching techniques into their existing English programmes, or establish new complimentary classes based on these methods. Dogme is an approach to English language teaching that emphasises the use of emergent language in the classroom and learner interests over standardised materials.
Trainees will receive training on using Dogme teaching techniques, as well as digital guides to use in planning either remote or in-person settings Dogme-based lessons, allowing them to maintain the communicative language teaching despite COVID-19.
Following the live training, trainees will also receive support through a community of practice, where peers will be able to share ideas and challenges, and receive support from experienced teachers.
Delivery and duration: 22 January - 4 March
The training consists of:
- Two intensive facilitated sessions (3 hours each) on 22 and 23 January [5-8pm Amman time]
- Six weekly sessions (1 hour) between 28 January - 4 March focussed on supporting teachers to integrate techniques and reflect on practice, delivered via Zoom.
- In addition, there will be one Moodle platform induction session that will prepare the participant for the self-paced study on the platform. The estimated required time for the self-paced learning is up to five hours for the whole course.
