Session aims

  1. Make study pathway decisions based on greater self-awareness
  2. Persuasively describe my strengths, weaknesses, motivations and ambitions
  3. Identify gaps in my experience that will need to be filled before CV and motivation letter
  4. Identify opportunities to fill those gaps
  5. Identify documentation (certificates, visas, references) that are needed and start sourcing them

Assignment

  • During this session students will be asked to write a self-description. The instructions are below:

    During the session you wrote your first draft of your description of yourself. For homework, you may take a little longer. Write more detail about who you are, what you care about, what motivates and excites you and how you can contribute to your community, host country or home country. Use the information from the AI Career Coach, your own opinions and discussions with the group to help you.

    Write between 150 and 200 words. You will use this later to help write your motivation letter. 

    There is no need to give written feedback but make notes and give generalised feedback (3 or 4 points in common) to the group in the following session.
